The latest and greatest
By Kristine Colker, today Staff
n At the Greater New York Dental
Meeting, it’s easy to find all the latest
products and technology: They are
everywhere you look in the exhibit
hall, which is open Tuesday from 9:30
a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday from
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving you plenty of
time to check out all your old favorites
and learn about newcomers to the
marketplace.
But to help you narrow down where
to start, here is a quick rundown of
just a few of the exhibitors and their
many offerings on display here at the
Javits.
Stop by the Genoray booth, No.
2822, to look at its best-selling panoramic device, the Papaya, along with
new software and a Microsoft Surface
Pro 8 package being offered at a special price during the meeting.

Put your dental skills to use in fighting crime
By Aaron Rothkopf, today Staff
n Love watching crime shows and
seeing how dentistry plays a role in
solving crimes? Now’s your chance to
learn more about “The Real CSI.”
On Wednesday, there will be two
half-day seminars focusing on dentistry and high-profile crimes.

In the first one, attendees will
learn about forensic pattern evidence
and the role dental evidence plays in
high-profile police investigations. The
half-day seminar takes place from
8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Then in the afternoon, from 1:30 to
4:30 p.m., you can learn how forensic
odontology is being used to help iden-

tify war casualties during the second
session.
Also Wednesday, we know teens
like to rebel, but they shouldn’t when
it comes to oral care. In an afternoon
session, attendees can learn about
shocking and risky behaviors when it
comes to tweens and teens and their
oral health.

Attendees will learn how to identify
those behaviors as well as learn how
to communicate more effectively with
this age group to promote healthy dental choices. The session takes place
from 2 to 4 p.m.
For even more educational courses,
check out the program guide or download the GNYDM app.

Topical Anesthetic gels and sprays
containing 20 percent Benzocaine, is

HurriCaine Topical Anesthetic Gel
is now available in a unit dose. This
new, individually wrapped, singleuse dose includes a single-use swab

pain relief associated with sores in
the mouth and throat, canker sores,
irritation from dentures or orthodontic appliances, and other dental procedures, according to the company.
The unit dose also has a fast onset

company asserts. It is available in
five flavors: original wild cherry, piña
colada, fresh mint, watermelon and
strawberry.
The HurriCaine Topical Anesthetic
Unit Dose Gel now also comes in a

syringe has a flexible but firm plastic
irrigation tip for effective sub-gingival application prior to root planning,

“We are excited to now offer people

their mouth pain,” said David Clinard,
COO at Beutlich Pharmaceuticals.
