for immediate use at the end of every
cycle, minimizing the risk of cross
contamination.
• More versatile: Designed to meet
diverse practice needs with cycles for
wrapped, unwrapped, cassette and
low-temperature loads. It offers two
or three rack options for additional
load flexibility, comes in both 5-liter
and 3-liter models and features both

an air line and an air ejector for those
with an air line.
• More convenient: Auto drain
and auto fill are standard features of

by ensuring fresh water delivery for
every cycle, every time.
Auto drain saves time for staff,
making the manual process of emptying dirty water bottles a thing of the

Introducing DDS Lab’s 3-D
printed digital denture workflow
By DDS Lab Staff
n In search of efficiency gains and
enhanced patient experience, dental
offices on the forefront of innovation have adopted intraoral scanning as a replacement to traditional
analog impressions primarily for
orthodontic appliances and fixed restorations.
It is no wonder, given the hurdles
associated with traditional processes
for the creation of removable dentures, that early adopters of digital
dentistry are now ready to reinvent
removable workflows with this same
scanning technology.
DDS Lab, a market leading, fullservice dental lab, has been at the
forefront of driving intraoral scanning adoption for restorative procedures, in partnership with dental
support organizations (DSOs) and
digitally enabled private practices
alike.
DDS Lab has fabricated more than
2 million digital restorations and has
taken this experience and applied it
to removables.
“We are proud of our lab’s investment and experience in this space,”
said Chuck DiNardo, CEO of DDS Lab.
“We believe the time is now to drive
a change in the standard of care
for removables to a fully digital 3-D
printed pathway.”
One of the benefits of 3-D printed
denture technology is the ability to
produce dentures that are not only
better fitting but also more esthetically pleasing. Moreover, this digital
workflow significantly reduces turnaround times.
What once took weeks of multiple appointments and manual adjustments can now be accomplished in
a fraction of the time. This not only
enhances patient satisfaction but also
boosts the productivity of the practice, reducing chair time and streamlining workflow.
The digital technicians at DDS Lab
recommend dental practices interested in evolving their practice with

ideal starting point because scanning
techniques are more similar to fixed

Expand your possibilities with three
confidence-inspiring DEXIS launches
By DEXIS Staff
n It’s never been a more exciting
time to be a general practitioner, as a
growing number of dental practices
expand the services they offer to their
patients.
According to American Dental
Association (ADA) research, approximately 70 percent to 90 percent of
general dentists perform at least some
endodontic procedures in their practices.1 While general practices have
traditionally referred more challenging cases to specialists, that too is
starting to change.
Many general practices now offer
patients a range of services inside
their operatories, including clear
aligners, treatments for gum disease,
simple implant replacement, select
root canal procedures and more.
That’s great news for patients and
practices alike. As general practices
provide more complex procedures
in-house, they’re opening new opportunities for growth and revenue
while saving patients the inconvenience of scheduling multiple appointments with different specialists.
Win, win.
To successfully expand their services, however, general practices
must have the right technology, tools
and team in place. They must also
have a high level of confidence in the
accuracy of their diagnoses, the precision of the procedures they perform
and the predictability of outcomes
that support a positive patient experience.
An innovator in digital imaging
technology, DEXIS is committed to
developing solutions that empower
confidence for dentists and their
teams. With three exciting new
launches — ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPH
OP 3D EX, updates in the DEXIS
Intraoral Scanner ScanFlow software
and surgical guide creation in DTX
Studio Clinic — DEXIS supports a
high level of confidence for general
practices seeking to grow their business, unlock new possibilities and
expand the way they provide patient
care.
Built on proven OP 3D technology,
the OP 3D EX multimodal imaging
platform provides general practices
an entry point to expanded possibilities. With the OP 3D EX, you’ll
find many of the popular features
available with the OP 3D LX, including fast scan times, flexible applications, consistent high-clarity images,
access to AI-enabled features embed-

software and patient comfort.
The OP 3D EX enables you to capture detailed 3-D X-ray images with
adjustable field-of-view sizes using
cone beam technology as well as various panoramic images adapting to
varying patient anatomy and clinical
needs.
You also have the choice to use
the ORTHOfocus feature to automati-
cally identify the optimal panoramic
image layer or the multilayer pan that
returns five panoramic layers within
one exposure.
Used in combination with the OP
3D EX, intraoral scanning plays an
equally important role in general
practices seeking to expand their
services. DEXIS intraoral scanners
are equipped with DEXIS IS ScanFlow
software to simplify and streamline
how you leverage intraoral scans
to communicate findings with your
patients.
The latest release of IS ScanFlow
introduces Oral Compare that helps
clinicians and patients visualize
changes in dentition over time.
Along with increased diagnostic and patient confidence, general
practices seeking to broaden their
offerings must also be confident in
the procedures they perform and
the predictability of outcomes for
patients. The latest version of DTX
Studio Clinic software supports this
procedural confidence with the addition of an intuitive surgical guide
creation feature.
DTX Studio Clinic now allows you
to design surgical guides directly
in the software in under three minutes. Easy-to-use surgical template
functionality enables you to generate
chairside printable high-resolution

STELLAR materials at the
forefront of implant surgery
with a Taubicolored Elixirs twist
By TAUB Products Staff
n All-on-X immediate and delayed
load full arch guided surgeries have
become the pinnacle procedure in
implant full mouth smile reconstruction. Full arch guided surgeries offer
a patient with an otherwise non-existent smile the ability to have a confidence-inspiring smile with excellent
occlusion and alignment.
A guided surgery is not inexpensive to the patient. It has a price tag
where the patient will expect the
very best components and materials
are used, for the very best results.
If the patient comes back because of
PMMA denture fractures at the cylinder interface, in the middle of the
healing phase, not only is the patient
upset but the labor and time to fix the
issue and reseat the healing denture
will seriously affect the overall profit,
patient confidence, doctor confidence
in material resin choice and predictable outcomes of the procedure.
STELLAR DC Acrylic is a revolutionary, dual cure PMMA pick-up and
conversion resin with amazing cure
speed and unsurpassed durability,
according to TAUB Products, the company behind the resin. It can speed
up the pick-up and conversion time by
30-plus minutes.
STELLAR offers “rock hard” durability and won’t fracture throughout
the healing phase, when used as
directed, according to the company.
STELLAR DC Acrylic resin is great
for picking up immediate load dentures, overdenture attachments, hard
relines, creating implant verification
jigs and more. It can be tack cured in
eight to ten seconds, fully light cured
in 20 seconds and will cure on its own
in 120 seconds. It provides the fastest
production time of any acrylic, has no
noticeable shrinkage, has no polymerization heat during cure and no tension after cure, the company asserts.
If you’re looking for a longer selfset version, the STELLAR Attachment resin is specially formulated
for picking up “locator” overdenture
attachments. Utilizing very similar
technology to STELLAR DC Acrylic,
the STELLAR Attachment offers a
four-plus minute self set time. This
gives ample working time to position

and pick-up multiple overdenture
attachments at once.
The latest addition to the STELLAR
family, STELLAR Glaze LC Liquid, is a
light cure PMMA clear glaze for sealing and creating a luster on acrylic
and composite prosthesis and resin
teeth. Using blue wavelength LED at
470 nm, full curing takes place in 30
seconds.
It is specially formulated to chemically cure without a bonding agent to
3-D printed and milled try-ins, immediate load full arch temps and long-
term full arch temps. Applying STELLAR Glaze LC Liquid after pick-up and
conversion for all chairside conversion arches allows the material to flow
into and seal any microgaps.
STELLAR Glaze seals porous
PMMA and other resins and increases
long-term integrity and durability
of the prosthesis. STELLAR GLAZE
LC Liquid works over STELLAR DC
Acrylic and other pickup resins.
“With more than 1,500 cases per
month, the STELLAR family of PMMA
Acrylics are a game changer for pickup and conversions of immediate
load temporary restorations and locator overdenture attachments,” said
Jordan Taub, vice president at TAUB
Products.
“Using our chemistry and technology, the CDT, super GP and periodontist now have an ultra-durable,
fast-setting, no heat, no noticeable
shrinkage acrylic that dramatically
reduces production times.”
TAUB also offers a chlorhexidine
gel for cleaning implant sites and
components. GoCHx Gel 0.8 percent
chlorhexidine offers targeted placement that will clean the area and not
make a mess. It can be used where
chlorhexidine is indicated, in the
implant well before abutment placement, screw access holes and other
components.
TAUB has a new cement line called
ENERGY CTZ for single/final full arch
restorations, focusing on bonding 3-D
ceramics, titanium and zirconia.

Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus: vVARDIS presents
innovative chairside treatment for early caries
By vVARDIS Staff

patient. The chairside procedure is
completely pain-free and does not
require anesthesia or strict isolation
techniques.
The formulation works on all surfaces and is nonstaining and can thus
be used on all teeth, including those
in the esthetic zone. Furthermore, it
is tasteless.
For all these reasons, it is well
received by patients, particularly
children.
Apart from the benefits it brings to
patients, it is easy for the clinician to

The Empire State Building
Combine your love of Starbucks and
your fear of heights as you take in
the morning sunrise atop the Empire
State Building. The exclusive Empire
State Building Starbucks Reserve
Sunrise Experience is offered every
Saturday from April 1 with limited
capacity. It costs $135 and includes
free Starbucks.
For those non early risers, you too
can be whisked to the main observatory on the 86th floor, or if you want
to go a little higher, head up to the
“top deck” observatory on the 102nd
floor. The views from both levels are
spectacular, especially when the sky
is clear.
If you go: Enter on West 34th Street.
You can visit any time during the day
or even very late at night. Hours are
from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Prices start at
$44 for adults and $38 for children
and go up from there. Reservations
are required if you plan on visiting,
but you can buy tickets on the second
floor kiosk. Advance tickets are avail-
able at www.esbnyc.com. There’s also
an app, called Empire State Building
Guide.
Even more views: You can also visit
the Top of the Rock Observation Deck,
at Rockefeller Center, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, www.topoftherocknyc.com.
There’s also One World Observatory,
at the top of One World Trade Center,
www.oneworldobservatory.com.
Times Square
The new year is still just over a
month away, but check out the most
famous spot to welcome in 2025.
Times Square is also the center of the
Theatre District and has many restaurants and shops to fill your time.
Broadway is nearby, and it’s the place
to catch one of the many musicals
playing year-round.
Visiting Times Square in the even-
ing is a feast for the eyes as the area is
known for its bright neon signs.
Hudson Yards and City Climb
Also located near the Javits Center is
Hudson Yards, a new, modern public
square that includes a shopping mall,
restaurants and live performances,
all amid a cluster of high-rise luxury
apartment buildings. For those looking to overcome their fear of heights,
check out City Climb and stand 1,200
feet above the city streets attached to
a harness for out-of-this-world views
of the city.
If you go: To visit Hudson Yards
from the Javits Center, simply cross
11th Avenue and go right (south).
Tickets for City Climb cost $185 or go
online to www.edgenyc.com.
A nearby stroll: From Hudson Yards
you can enter The High Line, www.
If you love art, you know that some of
the world’s most priceless works are
famously on display at the Museum of
Modern Art — known affectionately to
New Yorkers as the MoMA. Some of
the highlights include Picasso’s “Les
Demoiselles d’Avignon,” van Gogh’s
“The Starry Night” and Monet’s
“Water Lilies” as well as many other
works by contemporary artists.
If you go: MoMA is located at
11 W. 53rd St. It’s open daily from
10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except on
Saturdays when it is open until 7 p.m.
Admission is $30 for adults and $22
for seniors. Children get in free. It’s
free for everyone on Fridays starting
at 5:30 until 9 p.m.
Tickets include admission to all
galleries and special exhibitions.
Expect crowds and long lines, especially on Friday evenings. You can
buy tickets at www.moma.org.
More art: Also not to be missed
is the Metropolitan Museum of Art,
at 1000 Fifth Avenue, www.met
museum.org, and the Whitney
Museum of American Art, 99 Gansevoort St., whitney.org.
Statue of Liberty Museum
If you want to get out on the water
and visit one of New York’s most
famous landmarks, head out to see
the Statue of Liberty. Opened just
four years ago, check out the Statue
of Liberty Museum, www.statueof
libertymuseum.org, on Liberty Island.
The museum tells the story of how the
150-foot copper statue was conceived
and built as a gift from the French
people.
On display is the statue’s original
torch, as it appeared atop the monument in 1886, as well as copper replicas of Lady Liberty’s face and foot.
If you go: Admission to the new
Statue of Liberty Museum is free,
but to get there you have to take a
boat from either Battery Park or from
Liberty State Park in New Jersey.
Visit www.statueofliberty.org/statueof-liberty/ for tickets and information.
Prices start at $24 for adults and $12
for children.
More bang for your buck: On the
way to Liberty Island your boat will
also stop at Ellis Island, which also
has a museum. It’s definitely worth
visiting. And be sure to check out the
glorious views of the Lower Manhattan skyline on the way to and from.
