AAID opens submissions
for 2022 table clinics
Conference to take
place in Dallas, Texas,
from Sept. 21 to 24

T
he American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) has
opened abstract submissions
for table clinics to be presented
at the 2022 AAID Annual Conference in
Dallas, Texas, from Sept. 21 to 24.
Each year, AAID brings together hundreds of leaders in the field of implant
dentistry for hands-on workshops, seminars and networking. This year’s annual
conference, “Zero in on Zero Complications: How to prevent complications by
zeroing in on the challenges,” is seeking
abstracts for table clinics.
AAID encourages anyone interested in
sharing oral implantology research —
including students and residents, as well
as educators and practicing dentists —
to submit. Complimentary 2022 annual
conference registration is provided for
up to two students per submission.
Each chosen table clinic, which consists of a five-to-10-minute pre-recorded
and in-person presentation on the presenter’s laptop, will be judged for the

23. Winners will be announced during
the Main Podium on Saturday, Sept. 24,
and will receive a cash prize ranging
from $200 to $750.
Each submission must include an abstract containing a proposal title, pur-
pose of study, methods, results, conclusion and bibliography. The deadline for
submissions is July 1, 2022.

Foundation opens applications for 2022 student research grants
The American Academy of Implant
Dentistry Foundation (AAIDF) has
opened applications for the David Steflik Memorial Student Research Grants.
These grants are available to dental students and those in post-graduate and residency programs interested in pursuing
research in the field of oral implantology.
Applicants may request up to $2,000
to fund the project for up to a two-year
grant period. The AAIDF will provide an
additional $500 for travel expenses. Applications are due June 15.
A review committee with representatives from the academic, clinical and research arms of implant dentistry will determine the overall quality and scientific
merit of each student grant application.
Applications will be evaluated in accordance with the following:
• Significance and scientific merit.
• Characterization as an innovative
and/or pilot project that provides a basis
for more extended research.
• Feasibility of project.
• Time commitment of the investigator.
• Adequacy of the facilities.
• Justifications for budget requests.
